Faced with a sustained panel supply shortage, Jean has enlisted HannStar to supply panels from its 5G plant. Jean states that it holds 100,000 orders for LCD TVs, but tight supply of 13" panels from CPT has limited 13" LCD TV output down to 6,000 units per month. The company is also looking to aggressively develop 20" and 27" LCD TVs that are to be sold through major US channel players.

 

Jean is also planning to boost average monthly LCD monitor output in the second half of 2004 to 150,000 units, up from between 110,000 and 120,000 units in the first half. At present major customers include ViewSonic, A-Open, Gateway, and Best Buy.
